Scallops with Citrus Sauce


Main Ingredients

Sea Scallops (Medium)1 1/2 lbs
Sea Salt1/4 teaspoon
Sesame Oil2 teaspoons
Green Onion4 stalks
Takara Mirin1/4 cup
Fresh Orange Juice1/4 cup
Lemon Juice2 tablespoons
Soy Sauce2 tablespoons
Fresh Grated Giner1/2 teaspoon
Red Pepper Flakes1/2 teaspoon
Cornstarch1 teaspoon
Water1 tablespoon



  1. Pat scallops dry with paper towels, sprinkle with 1/8 teaspoon sea salt

  2. Heat 1 teaspoon sesame oil in a large skillet over high heat. Sauté green onions until wilted, about 1 minute. Remove onions from the pan and set aside

  3. Add remaining 1 teaspoon sesame oil to still hot pan. Add scallops to pan; cook 2 minutes or until golden brown

  4. Turn scallops; reduce heat to medium, and cook 1 minute. Remove scallops from pan and rest them warm (ex. wrap in aluminum foil for resting)

  5. Add the rest of the ingredients in a pan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 2 minutes

  6. Combine 1 tablespoon water and 1 teaspoon cornstarch. Stir into boiling sauce

  7. Stirring continuously, cook sauce until begins to thicken

  8. When sauce is done, put scallops and green onion back in a pan and coat with the sauce for serving
